‘DDLJ’ mania hadn’t favored their recent strike at its best. Duo Combo Aditya-SRK has been spelling poignant romantic flicks on the line. Although, the film hadn’t won critical acclaims, ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ proved successful at box office. The surefooted Yash Raj Films has now set in motion with a fantastic package of Home-Video of this film. Certainly, as you glimpse over the DVD with double-dimensioned cover, it will have surely spell a transfixing effect about picking it. But, there’s one thing that will get you a bit graveled that would really grab few minutes. So, any guesses about this teeny-weeny fuss? It’s all about opening the DVD case. It’s been unthinkably boxed that even a genius would get puzzled.

Oops! That doesn’t seem to be a terrific hurdle with this biggest extravaganza for the season in your homes. This 2-DVD pack has some entertaining factors including that seems to be quite interesting.

Synopsis

You might have a love story to tell? Maybe not!! How can an ordinary man have a breathtaking, goose flesh igniting, awe inspiring, love story of all things to tell…

But guess what – love doesn’t differential the ordinary and exceptional, the uninteresting and interesting, the unattractive and attractive. Because love knows no distinction. It can happen to anyone and once it does it engulfs us into it completely and gives us those miraculous experiences that only love can yield…

This is what happened to Surinder Sahni (Shah Rukh Khan) – a simple, clean hearted, honest man working for Punjab Power, leading a humdrum life, when he meets his total opposite and finds love in the flamboyant, fun-loving, vivacious - Taani (Anushka Sharma) for whom the whole world is her canvas and she paints her own life with the colors of rainbow all until unforeseen circumstances changes it all and brings them together…

What follows is a journey brimmed with laughter, tears, joy, pain, music, dance and a lot of love. A journey that makes us believe that there is an extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi…

DVD PACKAGE

Disc 1 – Feature Film

Candidly, you wouldn’t anything appealing over here. Followed by 30secs of FBI warning you about extrajudicial replicates, there’s an emblazoning promo of Yash Raj’s forthcoming Dhamaka ‘New York’ featuring John Abraham, Katrina Kaif and Neil Nithin Mukesh on title cards. Obviously, the short promo reveals about the motif of a thigh-slapper turning into edge-seated moments.

And here’s the main menu popping up. Anamorphic Presentation of Visuals can be viewed best on both LCD and other TV sets. It has sound options with 5.1 Dolby Digital Sound and Optional Stereo Sound. As in their previous home videos, you’ve whole lot of choices in subtitles from English-Arabic-Dutch to regional languages of Tamil and Telugu.

Disc 2 – Special Features

Making of the film – 45mins

No issues, if you couldn’t make your way to shooting locations of RNBDJ… Loaded with top-notching amusements, this feature has everyone in the crew on their take about filming for this great project. Don’t miss the exciting moments that happened on the sets.

SRK Unplugged

Few may perceive it be an unwanted attribute, while his ardent buffs would enjoy viewing it. SRK unplugged – King Khan speaks on his version of how a scratch on rough draft of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi turned into wonderful pictures on the screens (“Imagination is something wonderful… It can take you anywhere”). if you had ever thought how the characters did ‘Suri’ and ‘Raj’ of SRK came into existence, Shah Rukh unravels the story behind this. It all ends as he says ‘I wholeheartedly thank those two guys who inspired me a lot’.

Why ‘Suri’ hesitates to say ‘I Love You’ when Raj utters it just like that? – Again, as an audience, this had really perplexed us. SRK doesn’t miss his chance of unraveling the reason behind it too..

Deleted Scenes – 10mins

These sequences aren’t so lengthy. Couple of scenes gets us feel why they weren’t on the screens.

1. Suri and Taani arrive in Amritsar and station master welcomes them.

2. Taani prepares breakfast for Suri…

3. Bobby gets emotional.

4. Taani tells Suri that she has lied.

5. Taani talks about her dad to Raj

6. Bobby’s sermon on being Macho

SRK and Anushka in conversation

This is especially for those who had missed the mirthful chat between Shah Rukh and his sweetheart Anushka on satellite channels. Of course, it doesn’t matter watching it for the second time.

Other features are about theatrical trailers and promos, making of Dance Pe Chance – Haule Haule and Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte. What captivates you is the tremendous story on Haule Haule as it reveals the moments of cinematographer and characters in the frame on single take.

On the whole, it’s a brilliant packaging brimmed with entertaining features. A good engineering on sound quality and perfect visuals makes you feel worth buying for pennies (Rs. 399/-) you’ve paid.

Verdict: Buy a Copy
